"Spencer" was a Wendy son who started in the show ring in the Fall of 2009 at 14 months of age. He finished his AKC championship quickly with one 3-point and two 4-point majors all at the Ohio Valley Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club supported-entry shows in one weekend.
Under the skillful handing of Frank Murphy and backing/co-ownership of Kiki Courtelis and Linda Dossett, 2011 ended with Spencer being the No. 7 Herding Dog, the No. 1 Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Breed Points, and No. 2 in All-Breed Points with 31 Herding Group One and 6 Best In Show wins.
In 2012, Spencer won 6 more Bests In Show, and 2 Reserve Bests In Show, finishing the year as the No. 1 Male Pembroke Welsh Corgi and No. 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Breed/All Breed points, and the No. 8 Herding Dog All Systems. He was Best of Opposite Sex at the Eukanuba National Championship in 2011 and Best of Opposite Sex at Westminster in 2012, as well as the first Pembroke to achieve Gold Grand Championship status with a total of 738 points. His two-year total of 75 Herding Group Ones, 12 Bests In Show and 2 Reserve Bests In Show wins makes him Dalarno's Number One conformation dog of all time....many, many thanks to Kiki Courtelis and Frank Murphy for making this possible and Linda for letting him leave home for two-plus years.
Spencer came home to Virginia after his show career to be with Linda and Mitch. He lived the good life as a beloved family member until he passed in January 2023. He had numerous litters on the ground which included three AKC Champions!
